Rhyme or reason?

Leather and feather may rhyme phonetically but fashionably? I am not so sure.

Whitney so often gets it spot on but for me this outfit just misses the mark and the ostrich like skirt just clashes for me. Especially with the shoes somehow……the mary jane style just seems too delicate and girly to match………..what do you think?

Banking on tears?

Now this is how to advertise a bank. In fact this is the type of advertising that we should generally be exposed to at all times. Emotion driven and story telling I don’t mind this disrupting my day one bit.  A friend of mine shared this ad from Taiwan and it is a pleasure to watch and certainly brought tears to my eyes. I am not sure how it really links to the bank (surely they should have sponsored the trip or something?!) but regardless I just adore this…..what a tale……

Spring into summer…..

……so Spring has arrived in Europe and the streets of London are again lined with flipflop wearing, ice cream carrying ladies all heading for a corner of sunshine. And thankfully it looks like the grey winter days are behind for everyone on that side of the world.

So as you start to consider your summer wardrobe I thought there was no better time to share some swimwear inspiration. Anthropologie have just launched their new range and my oh my it doesn’t leave anything out. I adore this range, unusual shapes, stunning colours and a touch of sophistication. Personally I couldn’t wear the 50’s style high pants and mini shorts but I wish I could. I love them. Can’t you just see yourself by the pool at the Ritz Carlton, cool cocktail in hand and a long day with your favourite book ahead of you. Sigh. Shame I am in the office…..

Lauren Conrad…..

……on front cover of Allure magazine. Reality TV has served her well but somehow in this shot she comes across as grumpy versus sexy……

3 months later….

……and Miranda Kerr looks quite amazing. She gave birth just 3 months ago and was back on show and dazzling at this weeks Victoria Secret 2011 Swimwear launch party in Hollywood. Unattainable and unrealistic if following a normal post baby diet? Probably. But impressive never the less…..I have to say though I’d have chosen a better outfit. I don’t like the dress at all – what is that fabric?! It reminds me a little of an old fashioned carpet…….!

Eye candy

I remember seeing this in Vogue when the SATC movie launched…..I just love it. The romance, the glamour, the back drop, the shoes and, my oh my, the dress…..sigh……………..

Pretty in pink

First of all ladies I must apologise for not being around for the last week. Life has been running away with me and somehow the days passed without any internet inspiration so I do apologise. Today however I have been very inspired by these super sweet shots of Reese Witherspoon on her wedding day –  wearing pink! Somehow only Reese could pull this off but doesn’t she look gorgeous?! A twist on the traditional that is still understated and unique. I love this look!

Top Mango

I have always loved the Spanish label Mango. Ever since the summers of my early teens when Mango was still only seen on the streets of Spain and my mum would take me shopping for beautiful pieces of style (that no-one back home would have!) have I loved their approach to colour and shape and the easy flow of their stores. They are consistent yet innovative and they seem to just ‘get’ sophisticated style with a chic twist. They never let you down.

Their ‘Nude’ collection for Spring ’11 hasn’t failed to impress again. I love the neutral color palette of the collection with camel, tan and brown hues and here, I just adore this soft pink tone. So feminine, understated and springlike.  And the small case and sun glassses really finish off the outfit. I am not totally sure about model Alejandra Alonso here though. I don’t like her body position, nor her open lips, something about her stance just doesn’t seem to do the clothes justice. Plus, her hair seems to have not been quite finished – it overwhelms the photo. Maybe a 7/10 for the overall shot, what do you think?
