I am a recent convert of frozen yoghurt, so even though I am not missing my ice cream too much this summer, finding the below has no short of made my day! Whoever knew that bananas were so versatile, and dare I say, even a little magic?!
So, here you have it. Bananas can make amazing ice cream! I did not know this, until now. Of course this secret cannot be kept secret for long. Creamy, soft-serve style ice cream with just one ingredient, no additional dairy, sweeteners, or other ingredients needed whatsoever……certainly something to try this weekend….
And here’s how:
• Peel your bananas first.
• Cut them into small pieces.
• Freeze for just 1-2 hours on a plate.
•Blend them continually, scraping them down the sides if they stick, until the magic happens and the bananas turn into ice cream! (It will be like soft serve ice cream, refreeze at this stage for a firmer ice cream.)
That’t it! If you fancy it, add some peanut butter, some maple syrup, some honey or even some chocolate sauce……when something is this good for you surely you need to add a little naughtiness?!
